The
Silent Auction -- Saturday and Sunday!
See what's available for bid at the Silent Auction in the
EORenew booth! We are very grateful to the many donors for this
benefit auction. Purchases support the nonprofit organization that
brings you SolWest Fair and other educational activities throughout
the year.
Check out the items on display, write your bid on the sheet
next to the item, and then attend the bid closing at 6:30 Saturday
(selected items only) or 2:00 Sunday, to see if you have won your
bid. You or your representative must be present to win. All items
must be removed from the fairgrounds by 4:00 Sunday afternoon. At
press time, donations were coming in too fast to get them all in the

Under
the Willow Salon
A salon is a gathering of men and women to participate in
formal and informal discussion centered around a specific topic. The
topic at SolWest is, of course: what direction do we develop our
lives in order to increase our energy independence, sustainability,
and satisfaction with the quality of our experiences? The shaded deck
under the willow in front of the barns is a wonderful place for
contemplation and conversation. Should you want to ask yourself, or
anyone else, the essential questions of life, or just relax for a
while, go Under the Willow and see whos there to
talk with. |
Volunteers
needed
It takes many helping hands to run SolWest: greeters selling
tickets at the gate, question-answerers and go-fers. You can help
keep SolWest running smoothly and fairgoers finding the information
they came for by volunteering for 2-hour shifts during SolWest. Reap
the rewards of free fair entry and free camping. Training provided.
For more information email us in advance at info@solwest.org,
call the EORenew office at 541-575-3633, or inquire at the main entry
gate, and -- thank you!
Camping
at SolWest
Camping is available right on the fairgrounds for both tents
and RVs! If you don't need a hookup, camp in "the Orchard."
The camping is in a grassy field, with water, showers, and toilets
available nearby. There will also be porta-potties for convenience at
night. The fee is $15 for the weekend, payable to EORenew
(reservations strongly recommended at 541-575-3633). Check in when
you arrive with our campground host, Mike Igo.
If you would like to camp in the RV park with full hookups,
call John Day/Canyon City Parks and Rec. at 541-575-0110. RV slots go
fast, so call early! The RV park is the closest place to all the
action. Unplugged RVs, and anyone else, are welcome to camp free
around the edges of our 30 acre parking field, 1 block east of the
fairgrounds on Third Street. There will be porta-potties here, too,
for the travel-weary as well as the not completely self-contained. No
reservations are necessary, but please park around the back edges
near the trees.
If you own a VW camper, join the Wet
Westies for a campout at SolWest Fair. Contact Jon Kenneke
541-619-6490 for more info.
Please contact the EORenew
office if you would like
to distribute posters or
brochures in your area.
About
Dogs and other pets... |
Please leave your dog at home if at all possible. Dog incidents are
unpleasant for everyone. Dogs (in fact, all pets) at the fairgrounds
must be on a leash at all times, and are not allowed in lecture rooms.
Thank you! |
